[Aug. 10th, 1999|11:00 pm]
It had been a particularly rough night for Kip. He'd woken up three different times from horrific dreams, dreams where his father, in various stages of bloody dismemberment, haunted him mercilessly, threatening his life, insulting him, calling him worthless, accusing him of cold, calculated murder instead of the necessary defense of his own personal safety that Kip knew, deep down, was the truth behind the man's death.

At 8:00 in the morning, deciding there was no point anymore in trying to get any steady sleep, Kip took an apple from the bowl on the counter in his kitchen, shoved it in his pocket in case he felt the urge to eat anything while he was out and about, and headed outside for a walk around the lake. He told himself he was just going to clear his head for a while, get back to a state of equilibrium and then try to sleep, but he knew, even without being totally honest with himself, that he was going to look for Harrison, just so he didn't have to be alone with the burden of all of these thoughts.

He just hoped, when he passed by the man's house, that he would take notice and come outside so it could look like they met by accident, rather than the obvious truth that Kip really just needed not to be alone right now.
